Summer 2019 Taking Stock Product Spotlight Investment team Simon Steele is the Head of Global Equities and the Fund’s designated investment manager. Simon has responsibility for overseeing and developing AMP Capital’s active global equities investment process. However, the new global equity fund is underpinned by a strong and collaborative team culture, in which all members are considered investment managers/analysts. Members of the senior investment team include Andy Gardner who joined AMP Capital in 2012 and has 14 years investment experience. Andy has been a key driver in the shift towards long term investment beliefs, expressed through highly active portfolios designed to meet absolute return and risk objectives. David Naughtin joined AMP Capital in June 2017 within the Global Equities team, primarily responsible for idea generation for the global long only and global long short equity portfolios. David moved from Hong Kong to Sydney in 2018 and has more than 13 years’ investment experience. Another Investment Manager on the team, Neil Mitchell, is based in London. Neil joined AMP Capital in June 2016 from Sarasin & Partners where he was a Portfolio Manager responsible for UK equities. The purpose-built portfolio and risk framework champions a team approach to assessing exceptional companies. This team-based decision making process means every investment case is completed collaboratively, and so bene ts from the variety of backgrounds and experience.
